Main
Been a while.
Quite a while, in fact. You might even say that I abandoned the front page and let the site kind of wallow for a bit. Grad school was rough. Mostly through now, though I've moved on to being a working man. I like it more, gives me time in the evenings to come home and plot games or work on my site or such things. Good things. Those wondering, I've entered the industry, working with Crystal Dynamics for now. Good folks, go buy our games =P Advertising blurb or whatnot as non-required =), though we do make pretty good stuff.
A lot of thanks goes to Dune for helping pull me back to really getting stuff done on the site. And to the others who helped roll things along by being there when needed. Anyhow, a lot has happened in the last couple weeks and I hope more to occur. We've got a lot of good games going on right now.
Leading the gaming boards is The Day After Tomorrow, which is currently approaching its fourth year adventuring with the Hero rules, telling a tale of several individuals caught up in a contest for the fate of the world and power beyond that. Stripped of their normal lives and chased by two competing groups, they been traveling through dreams and possibility in this alt-universe take.
Following it in second oldest is my much maligned Wasteland which has slowly trod on for nearly two and a half years now. Starting as an IRC game it moved between it and forum as time and lifestyle changed. I'm glad to say about half the original crew is still with us, searching out the strange wasteland of nostalgia as they try and save it from destruction and find a way home. Well, I think most of them have given up on home at this point. Not having their new home get destroyed would probably be best. Currently in the middle of Chapter 3 they've still got a ways to go, cities to explore, towers to shake the foundations of the world with and more.
Snowfall and Swordplay is a weekly D&D game going on one and a half years at this point, and happening pretty solidly every week. Here we find the adventures of Gourash, orcish pimp, and his highly trained harem of babes... Ow, ow... Okay, okay, maybe it is not about that. But Gourash, Amonet, Alveria, and Keylin have been adventuring for some time throughout the forgotten realms and are about to start a very profitable career in pirating and kingdom usurping if the cards are right. It's ending about now, so go take a look at its final days.
Starting at the beginning of this year, Balmuria is both a game and a setting and a very heavy RP experience, all told. Played nearly daily, it follows the tale of a small country and its military academy, particularly the top of the class of such and how they've lived. I'm actually not too sure where they are now, as the logs lag a bit. Being a bit different, it isn't using experience despite being a D&D game, instead leveling up via plot dictates. I like the idea there. Last I heard, the Paladin of the group found herself bound to an Eryines by fairly odd circumstances (I'm told it involved one begging for their life).
Avontyne is El-Cid's exciting creation following the end of an apocolyptic magical war. Here people try and eke out a living on what's left of a once flourishing world.
Convergence, set in the wild frontier of the hundred kingdoms is a game where men are men, solars are solars, and the Queen of Whores can dish out thirty dice of social attack with relative impunity. Ouch. Here a young circle strives to forge an empire and drive back the forces of darkness..
With similar goals and drastically different strategies, a group of heroes also swarms the hundred kingdoms in an entirely different game that is also not generically like exalted~...maybe. Some call these strange solars the The Heroes of the East but that is but a small praise upon their glory and propensity for arming first age battle towers and blasting cities into disarray.
Finally, come to the exotic lands of Huachung, see the rivers and lakes that are known for their beauty across the world. Held in a custom setting with more rules changes than you can wave a stick at, the Mystics of Ifurita follows a group of spiritual guardians, protectors of the land against strange and implacable beasts. These are not adventurers, but part and parcel of a long tradition within the empire, the best the nine suns has to offer in the guiding and protecting of the people against the supernatural.
A fair chunk of games, no? We're always welcoming more, if you come across this and would like a site to host your game on. We're a friendly bunch and well willing to teach folks the ropes as they so choose. Anyhow, I should get back to working on the site. =) Come in. Say hi.

Gaming
Gaming is like some kind bizzare storytelling ART, where the paintbrush of the GM combines with the fluctuating palette of players to form an incredible, swirling drama.
Our most recent exhibitions feature...
-Avatars, an experimental dungeon crawl that has adapted save points into classic 2e D&D! Can the intrepid heroes defeat the DARK LORD?
-HEROES- where only the second-best supermen will do. Can they defeat the panoramic villians that live in AtroCity, despite low budgets, and even lower expectations?
-Snowfall & Swordplay is yet another excursion into Faerun. Far to the north from the Bloody Fields of Calimshan and Tethyr, this campaign follows the story of an all-too-likely group of dungeon-raiders. Some are in it for gold, some for glory, and some for knowledge. But they're ALL in it for the ale.
-Past Sins is a.. well, the words of the players say it best.
"[12:57] It's HERO, it's alternate universe, and Bjorn is trying to kill me, Rez, and Brian."
-Saving the Kingdom: Alruneza is yet another fantasy game, set to follow the classical mystical fantasy archetype that we've seen time and time again, both in games, such as Final Fantasy, and in books, like Wheel of Time. From zeroes to heroes; that's the way of the rural swordsman.
Alongside our excellent new games comes a recent surge of interest in the Role-Playing Codex. How can YOU GM better? WE HAVE THE ANSWER.
